Informatica Developer

Summary

Under general supervision, works in a data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced team members. Reviews data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy. Responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of an enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts. Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications. Conducts research into new data warehouse applications and determines viability for adoption. Assists in establishing development standards. Evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse. Incorporates existing subject areas into an enterprise model. Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 – 10 years related work experience or significant equivalent work experience
  • 8 years medium to large-scale data management environment experience
  • Strong technical knowledge with an emphasis on data
  • Demonstrated understanding of data architecture concepts and strategies, including types of data and the relationships between them; optimal data placement strategies; data usage guidelines; data technical components and the relationships between them
  • Strong understanding of networking and security requirements and issues as they relate to data movement (e.g. – database/data warehouse access, data replication, data movement, data distribution)
  • Strong understanding of databases and data access methodologies
  • Strong understanding of data messaging techniques and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task work assignments
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong teamwork skills within I.S. and client community
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task work assignments
